Vol. 114 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Fertilisers.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will make investigations in County Mayo to ascertain whether it is a fact that combinations are being formed by a number of agricultural suppliers for the purpose of fixing the price of fertilisers, and in particular, potato fertiliser; and, if such is the case, whether he will take appropriate action; furthermore, if he will state the fixed price, if any, of each type of fertiliser.

I am not aware of any such combinations, but if the Deputy will give me any information he may have I shall cause inquiries to be made.

Maximum retail prices for fertilisers have not been fixed this season by Order, but some importers have arranged a flat price throughout the country for the fertilisers imported by them.
