Vol. 114 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilkenny City Licensed Premises.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (i) how many licensed premises in Kilkenny City were revalued in the years 1947, 1948 and 1949; (ii) in how many such premises were alterations, improvements or additions carried out, and (iii) whether there was a specific request from the local authority for revaluation in respect of each revaluation made.

Revised valuations were issued by the Valuation Office for three, seven and 33 licensed premises in Kilkenny City on 1st March, 1947, 1948 and 1949, respectively; in one case the valuation was revised both in 1948 and in 1949. The revising valuer noted that alterations, improvements or additions had been carried out in 16 premises.

All the premises concerned were included in lists submitted in the ordinary course to the Valuation Office by the town clerk. In all but one of the 33 cases in which a revision of valuation was made in 1949, the list bore a note to the effect that the corporation was of opinion that the valuations were sufficient and did not need revision.
