Vol. 114 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Workers.

asked the Minister for Lands if he proposes to give to forestry workers the same concessions as regards payment for broken time and erection of shelters as those which the Minister for Local Government has recommended local authorities to give to road workers.

The payment of wages to forestry labourers for time during which work is interrupted by weather conditions has been governed since 1938 by regulations which are in effect identical with the recent recommendation of the Minister for Local Government in the case of road workers.

It is the practice of the Department to provide reasonable shelter accommodation at all State forests.
