Vol. 114 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Purchase of Warlike Stores.

asked the Minister for Defence (i) to what value or amount orders have been placed for warlike stores provided for in sub-head P, Vote 63 of the 1948-49 Estimates during the year to 31st March, 1949; (ii) how far the stores so ordered have been delivered, and (iii) when deliveries of the balance may be expected.

During the financial year ended 31st March, 1949, to which I assume the Deputy refers, (i) warlike stores to the value of £145,800 approximately were ordered; (ii) stores to the value of £56,454 approximately have been delivered; (iii) it is expected that further deliveries to the value of £9,470 will be made by the end of June next. Delivery of artillery radar equipment to the value of £79,876 is not due until about the end of February, 1950.
