Vol. 114 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Letters on Land Commission Matters.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of letters received by him affecting Land Commission matters either directly or through his officials from (a) County Mayo, and (b) the rest of the State for the year ending the 31st December, 1948, or the nearest convenient period.

It may come as a surprise to the Deputy to learn that the Land Commission receives annually about 250,000 letters. There is so much work of a useful kind to be done that I could not agree to the wasteful expenditure of official time which an attempt to ascertain the information requested by the Deputy would involve.
