Vol. 114 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Soldiers in Six Counties.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he is able to say how many British soldiers have recently been sent into the Six Counties, and whether this action is for the purpose of assisting the Northern Government's B Specials to hold the Six Counties against the wishes of the majority of Irishmen the world over.

I have nothing to add to the statement made by the Taoiseach on this subject in reply to a Parliamentary Question on the 10th March.

Can the Minister assure the House that the Government will continue to deny the right of British troops to occupy portion of our country by force?

I think there is no doubt that this fact must have been made sufficiently clear and cannot be over-emphasised—that we have in the past, in the present and will in the future continue to deny the right of British forces to occupy our six northeastern counties.
