asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the largest number of unemployed within the County Borough of Cork for each of the months from February, 1948, to March, 1949, inclusive and comparative figures for the preceding 12 months.
Written Answer. - Cork Unemployed.
Statistics by areas of residence of persons registered at local offices of my Department are ordinarily compiled only in respect of a fixed day in each month. The numbers of persons resident in the County Borough of Cork who were registered at the Employment Exchange, Cork, on that day in each of the months from February, 1948, to March, 1949, and for the preceding 12 months were as follows:—

With your permission, I should like to raise on the Adjournment the matter of Question No. 36 and certain matters relevant to it arising out of the reply to the question.
Might I point out that I have given all the information I was asked for on that question? That information is what this man is charged with and what convictions were made against him. I have given all the information that can be given about his convictions.
I am not satisfied with that.
You want to blackguard the man fully when he is outside the House and cannot answer.
