Vol. 115 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castlecomer Collieries Dispute.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what steps have been taken by the Labour Court to effect a settlement of the dispute at the Castlecomer Collieries.

I am informed that the Labour Court arranged a conference between the two parties to the dispute at Castlecomer on 8th April, 1949, at which certain proposals were discussed.

Neither the employers nor the employees have since communicated with the Labour Court.

May I ask whether that indicates that the Labour Court is not going to take any further action in this matter?

That I do not know.
