Vol. 115 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Cemeteries.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what steps are being taken to provide a cemetery for the Santry and Cloghran area, County Dublin; and if he will indicate what progress is being made towards the provision of a cemetery at Balbriggan, County Dublin.

The Dublin County Council have submitted to the Department an application for the compulsory acquisition of lands for the purpose of providing a new burial ground at Burgage (Balgriffin) which will serve the Santry and Cloghran areas. The evidence tendered at the inquiry is at present under consideration and it is hoped to communicate a decision to the local authority at an early date.

I have no information in regard to the need for the provision of a new cemetery at Balbriggan.
