Vol. 115 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Bog.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will consider the desirability of acquiring the flooded land known as the Bog of the Ring, Delahasey, County Dublin, for the purpose of afforestation and reclamation.

No offers of land for State afforestation purposes have been received in respect of the land described in the question as the Bog of the Ring, Delahasey, County Dublin. If the Deputy will be good enough to suggest to the owners of the lands in question that they should offer them for sale to the Department I will, on receipt of their offers, make immediate arrangements for inspection to ascertain whether the lands are suitable for afforestation.

Is the Minister aware that this particular stretch of land is commonage or State land and that no private owners are concerned?
