Vol. 115 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Circuit Court Staffs.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state what are the terms to which he referred when he stated in Dáil Éireann on the 24th February, 1949, Official Report, column 499, that he was not in a position to announce better terms for the Circuit Court staffs than those already announced.

The terms to which I referred were those which were communicated to the Association of Unestablished Circuit Court Clerks in August, 1947, as modified by certain improvements in the rates of remuneration which were communicated to a deputation from the association that was received by me in March, 1948.

Does the Minister know that established Circuit Court clerks are also awaiting the establishment scheme which has been under consideration now for some time?

Can the Minister state when this matter will be finally concluded? It has now been dragging on for a considerable number of years.

It started in 1924, and I hope to have it finished by 1954, anyway.
