asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the period for which and the terms and conditions under which the present chairman of the tourist board has been appointed by him.

The present chairman of the Irish Tourist Board was appointed for a period of one year commencing on the 1st April, 1949, with the same remuneration and under the same conditions as his predecessor in office, namely, remuneration at the rate of £1,700 per annum and travelling and subsistence allowances, in connection with the business of the board, at rates appropriate to a civil servant of the highest grade.
