Vol. 115 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bus Service to Farrenferris.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the hardships being suffered by the residents of the Spangle Hill district in Cork City due to the lack of an adequate bus service, he will request Córas Iompair Éireann to extend to Farrenferris Avenue the existing service, which at present terminates on the Commons Road.

I am informed by Córas Iompair Éireann that the extension of this service to Farrenferris Avenue is at present under consideration.

Is the Minister aware that at present the residents of this area are left at the foot of a very long hill and this causes great hardship to the aged people? Will he ask Córas Iompair Éireann to expedite the service as much as possible?

This matter is being considered at the moment by Córas Iompair Éireann and I am sure there will not be any avoidable delay.

I am asking the Minister to expedite this.
