Vol. 115 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of County Dublin School.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware of the urgent need for the repair or replacement of Balscadden National School, County Dublin; and, if so, what steps are being taken to remedy the position.

I am aware that the erection of a new school to replace Balscadden National School would be desirable and I am having the matter investigated.

Certain works (in addition to some which the manager has had recently carried out) are required as a temporary measure to make the existing premises serviceable and reasonably comfortable pending the erection of a new school. The Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of these works (including the provision of new temporary sanitary accommodation), and it is hoped to have them put in hand at an early date.
