Vol. 115 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Remuneration of Garda Síochána.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the rates of pay and all allowances for all ranks of the Garda Síochána.

The present rates of pay and allowances for the Garda Síochána are set out in the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1947 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 281 of 1947) and the Garda Síochána Allowances (Consolidation) Order, 1947, (Statutory Rules and Orders No. 167 of 1947).

A new Pay Order is being prepared to provide for the increases in remuneration which were recently approved by the Government. The increases will range from a minimum of 11/- per week to £65 per annum in the case of a first grade chief superintendent.
