Vol. 116 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Subway Road Crossings in Dublin.

asked the Minister for Local Government if it is intended to provide subway road crossings for the use of pedestrians in the central area of Dublin.

I would refer the Deputy to the answer given to Deputy Rooney on the 10th ultimo. There is no change in the position since then. The matter is primarily for the corporation. It was considered by the traffic committee of the corporation's town planning and streets committee who decided that, having regard to the engineering difficulties involved, the provision of subways would not be warranted.
