Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Teachers' Salaries.

asked the Minister for Education if he is in a position to inform the House of the findings of the committee which has been investigating national teachers' salaries.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state when it is intended to publish the recommendations of the Roe Commission which has inquired into the question of salaries for national teachers.

asked the Minister for Education if the recommendations of the Roe Commission have as yet been considered by the Government; and if he will state when he will be in a position to make a statement as to the Government's attitude to the commission's findings.

asked the Minister for Education when he will be in a position to announce the new salary scales recommended by the Roe Commission for national teachers.

With your permission, a Chinn Chomhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 together.

The report of the committee has not yet been considered by the Government. I hope that it will be possible for the Government to consider it early next month.

Is the Minister aware that the teachers expect him to profit by the experience to be gained from the mistakes made by his predecessor?
