Vol. 117 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment of Housing Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that payment of the grant under the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1948, is delayed in many cases for a considerable period after the building of the house has been completed; and, if so, whether he will now take steps to ensure prompt payment of these grants.

Every effort is being made to ensure the prompt payment of housing grants and I am not aware that considerable delay has arisen in many cases. If, however, the Deputy will forward to me particulars of any case in which unreasonable delay has occurred I will have investigations made and will communicate with him further.
