Vol. 117 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dangerous County Dublin Corner.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that there is a dangerous corner on the Burrow Road, Portrane; and that two accidents have occurred there recently; and, if so, whether he will make representations to the local authority to have this corner removed.

I understand that the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána is aware of only one accident, which occurred last year and which was of a minor nature. The Dublin County Council considered a proposal to improve the corner but decided to defer the work.

Is the Minister aware that this work was sanctioned until the road grants were cut? If there are a few people killed it does not appear that it would make much difference.

The Minister is not so aware and the facts are not quite as set out by the Deputy.
