Vol. 118 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Broadening of West Clare Railway.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that a local committee was formed some time ago to investigate the possibility of broadening the West Clare Railway and that this committee collected money to pay an engineering expert to report on the project; if he will state whether he has yet received a report; and, if not, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

There is no information in my Department in regard to the local committee to which the Deputy refers other than that contained in certain Press reports. I do not propose to take any action in the matter.
