Vol. 118 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Elections.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is his intention to hold the local elections, including the County Borough of Dublin elections; and if he will arrange for the necessary Order to be published as early as possible to facilitate candidates in making arrangements, as normally local authorities give three months' notice of election day, etc.

I have not yet decided the day on which local elections are to be held. I am aware of the necessity for giving candidates and returning officers ample notice and I will make the Order appointing the day well in advance of the day of election.
