Vol. 118 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sows for Cottiers.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he intends to give sows to the various county committees of agriculture for distribution among cottiers and small landholders; and, if so, whether he will consider giving such sows on the same conditions as premium boars are given at the moment.

A scheme for the distribution of sows on reasonable terms, introduced by the Pigs and Bacon Commission, is at present operating in 13 counties and will, I understand, be extended to other counties if the demand so warrants.
