Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Clare Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if the will state whether the Land Commission are aware that over 4,000 acres of good arable land are held by some ten people in the Carron district in North Clare; that practically all of this land is used solely by the holders for grazing purposes, and that there are scores so of landless men in the area, and of uneconomic holders in the immediate neighbourhood who need tillage and meadow land in order to use their holdings in as proper method of husbandry, and whether the Land Commission propose to take any action in the matter.

At present, there are proceedings in respect of an area of over 100 acres in this district while a further 1,000 acres have been noted for consideration.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state how soon the Land Commission proposes to distribute the Craig farm at Dangan, Quin, County Clare.

There is good reason to expects that these lands will be allotted for the coming spring.
