Vol. 118 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Reconstruction Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state why an inspector from his Department has not yet called on Mr. Denis Duggan, Clonbainim, Banteer, County Cork, who made application for a reconstruction grant in respect of his house early last March.

An application for a reconstruction grant under the Housing Acts was received from Mr. Denis Duggan on the 30th April, 1949, and was referred for examination to the Cork County Council who carry out the preliminary work in connection with such applications in that county. I understand that the case was referred by the county council to the Department's inspector who visited the applicant's house and who has prepared an estimate of the reconstruction work to be carried out. I am informed that Mr. Duggan was absent when the inspector called.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state when an application for a reconstruction grant was received in his Department from Mr. James O'Flynn, Barleyhill, Newmarket, County Cork.

An application for a housing reconstruction grant was received from Mr. Flynn on the 12th March, 1949.
