Vol. 118 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Compensation for Disturbance.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the arrangements for compensating farmers and other residents in the Lee Valley for loss and disturbance caused by the carrying out of the Lee hydro-electric schemes.

Provision for the payment of compensation to persons who will be affected by the carrying out of the Lee hydro-electric scheme is made in Section 26 of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1945.

Is the Minister aware that a communication was issued from his office to me on 25th November stating that the scheme was under consideration; and, if so, will he state the exact date on which he gave the Order for carrying out the scheme on the Lee?

The Order was signed on Thursday, 1st December.
