Vol. 119 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Baltinglass Hospital.

Mr. Brennan

asked the Minister for Health if he will state whether the plans and specifications for the additions to and reconstruction of Baltin-glass Hospital, County Wicklow, have yet been approved; and, if so, when it is expected the work will be commenced.

I approved of the revised sketch plans for the building work for this project on 20th August last. The architect is at present engaged on preparation of working drawings. I have requested the submission of the working drawings to my Department for examination and approval.

I have also approved the preliminary plans for the mechanical services for the work. The specification for the extensions has not yet been submitted to my Department for approval. I might add that the specification is not usually prepared until the working drawings have been approved.

I hope to see work started on this extension scheme in the summer.

With your permission, Sir, I shall raise the subject matter of Question No. 16 on the adjournment.

Deputy Cogan has given prior notice to raise the subject matter of Question No. 18 on the adjournment.

Then I shall raise it on another day.
