Vol. 119 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of School.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that the national school at Corduff, Lusk, is in need of repair, and that the schoolyard needs proper surfacing, and if he will state the earliest date on which the necessary work can be carried out.

I am aware that repairs and improvements are required to Corduff National School. Certain preliminary arrangements have still to be made in order to bring the case to the stage at which a grant for the carrying out of the improvements might be made, and the Department is in correspondence with the manager in the matter.

In the circumstances, I am unable to say, at present, when it may be possible to sanction a grant towards the cost of the proposed improvements scheme for this school, or to have the works put in hands.
