Vol. 119 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Plans.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the forestry plans for West Cork this year.

I would refer the Deputy to my answer to his question of 5th July last. Since that date, offers of 2,000 acres of land have been inspected and valued. Agreement has been reached for the purchase of an area of 6,000 acres and offers for the purchase of 700 acres in the Ballyvourney district will issue at an early date. Proceedings are at an advanced stage in regard to the other areas and I hope to issue offers in the near future.

The present planting season has not yet expired and detailed plans for next winter's planting have not yet been formulated.

When the detailed plans are available, would the Minister be so kind as to send me a copy?
