Vol. 120 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - St. Anne's Estate.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the building of 150 houses at St. Anne's estate, Clontarf, has been postponed for over two years in order that a competition for the laying out of sites should be first held, and whether he is prepared to take such steps as are necessary to ensure that no further delay is permitted.

I am aware of the position referred to by the Deputy, but I should like to point out that the postponement of the scheme in the circumstances mentioned was agreed to by the corporation, and has not impeded their housing programme. The question of proceeding with the scheme now is being examined by my Department, in consultation with the Dublin Housing Director, and a decision on the matter will be given shortly.
