Vol. 120 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Restoration of House Repairs Allowance.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware of the increasing burden of property tax on private house owners, particularly those who are purchasing their homes through building societies and under the Small Dwellings Acts, and whether he will consider favourably the restoration of the repairs allowance of one-sixth of the annual value of privatelyowned houses which was abolished in 1934.

The answer to both parts of the question is in the negative.
