Vol. 121 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of National Library and Museum.

Mr. Brady

asked the Minister for Finance if he is yet in a position to state when the defective stonework of the facades of the National Library and National Museum buildings, Kildare Street, will be replaced; and whether Irish granite will be used for the purpose.

I am not yet in a position to state when the defective stonework will be replaced, as progress on the plans and specification has been retarded due to the pressure of other more urgent works. It is intended to carry out the work of restoration either in Irish granite or limestone.
