asked the Taoiseach if he will indicate the quantity and value of new potatoes imported recently for domestic consumption and the origin of these supplies.

No new potatoes were imported into this country during April, 1950. In the current month, up to 17th instant inclusive, new potatoes were imported as follows: From the Canary Islands, 795 cwts., value (c.i.f.) £1,919; from Malta, 200 cwts., value (c.i.f.) £520.
