Vol. 121 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Grants and Subsidies.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state how much, approximately, of the total sum of £66,013,553 required for the service of the financial year 1950-51, under the heading of supply services, will be devoted by direct or indirect subsidies or grants to the help of agriculture.

Of the total sum of £66,013,553 for non-capital services in the published Volume of Estimates for Supply Services for the year 1950-51, approximately £10,330,000 will be devoted by direct or indirect subsidies or grants to the help of agriculture. This amount includes administration charges but does not include any moneys paid or services rendered to the farming community in common with other sections of the community or which are not readily identifiable, e.g., education, social services.
