Vol. 121 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the reasons for the delay in dividing the lands at Castlelake, Cashel, and Knockroe, Golden, Tipperary.

The Land Commission are not at present in a position to allot these lands. It is expected that the lands will be allocated early next year.

Can the Minister give the reason, if any, why the particular lands in question which were acquired by the previous Government in 1947 have not been divided as yet? Surely three years ought to be sufficient in which to do that.

Three years is a short time for the Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire portion of the Colonel P.B. Charteris estate at Bally-drehed, Cahir, for the relief of local congestion.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of any part of these lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission have yet reached a decision regarding the proposed acquisition of the Kennedy estate, Castleblake, Rosegreen, Fethard, said to be in the ownership of Mr. Thomas Rowan.

There has been no change in the position as set out in my reply to a similar question by the Deputy on 15th December last.
