Vol. 121 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Services.

Mr. Blaney

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will take immediate steps to have the telephone service extended to the post office at Glen, Carrigart, County Donegal.

I would refer the Deputy to the general statement on the Department's call office scheme made by me on the 18th April, 1950, in reply to a question raised by Deputy Madden on the subject of a call office at Carrigkerry, County Limerick.

Glen, Carrigart, is not included in the call office programme for the year ending the 31st March, 1951.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will now state when it is proposed to extend a night telephone service to Cashel and Fethard, County Tipperary.

Continuous telephone service will be provided at Cashel in about a month's time. It will also be provided at Fethard in the near future but the approximate date cannot yet be stated.
