Vol. 121 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erne Fishing Rights.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make available for members of the Oireachtas a copy of the agreement entered into between the Electricity Supply Board and the Erne Fisheries Company and if he will give particulars of the compensation paid to members and employees of the company by the Electricity Supply Board on the acquisition of the fishing rights of the company and the dates of payment of that compensation; and if he will state whether the persons so compensated are now employed on similar works by the Electricity Supply Board and, further, whether directors of the company are permitted by the Electricity Supply Board to enjoy all or some of their former rights over the Erne fishery; and, if so, if he will explain the reason therefor.

As the matters referred to in the Deputy's question are matters solely for the Electricity Supply Board under that body's statutory powers, I cannot see my way to ask the board to make a copy of the agreement available for members of the Oireachtas or to furnish information under the other heads.
