Vol. 121 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tramore Holiday Facilities.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state why the plans of the Tourist Board for Tramore which were so far advanced were not proceeded with and what is proposed to be done with the property of the Tourist Board there.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the neglected condition of the property of the Tourist Board in Tramore and if he will state whether the board intend to repair the hall and other property there.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 38 and 39 together. The question of the future policy to be adopted for development of tourism is under active consideration by the Government and the action to be taken in regard to the property and the proposed development schemes at Tramore will be settled when the Government has made its decision on the questions of policy involved.

May I ask the Minister if he realises that three seasons have already been lost and that the neglect to deal with this property has led to great damage to the place?

I realise a whole lot about it, but I would prefer not to make any further comment at the moment.

Would the Minister in future when he proposes to visit Tramore take a look at the place, see how the windows are broken and the whole property is neglected?

I have already seen it.
