Vol. 121 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport Officer's Position.

asked the Minister for Health if he has received any recommendations from the Chief Executive Officer, Dublin Board of Assistance, in respect of the position of transport officer in the board's employment and the fixing of an appropriate rate of remuneration for the position arising out of a submission made in this matter by the Workers' Union of Ireland on the 22nd September, 1949.

I have not received any recommendations from the Chief Executive Officer, Dublin Board of Assistance, in respect of the position referred to by the Deputy since the 22nd September, 1949.

Will the Minister bear in mind, while the reorganisation of transport is under consideration, that this officer is actually carrying out work in connection with transport in the institution for which he is not being adequately remunerated? Could the question of salary not be considered while the reorganisation of transport is under consideration?
