Vol. 121 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Youghal Sea Wall.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether the scheme under the Local Authorities (Works) Act for the rebuilding of the sea wall at the Promenade, Youghal, has yet been examined by his Department's engineer and further, whether, in view of the fact that it is essential that the work be done during the summer months, the decision has been conveyed to the county council.

The county council's proposals have not been submitted in any detail, but it appears that the work proposed involves the erection of a wall to resist violent sea action in a place where foundation difficulties may be expected to be encountered. Before it can be considered further, a report from the deputy county engineer is required as to the scope of the problem with fuller particulars of the work proposed to be undertaken The county council is being informed accordingly.
