Committee on Finance. - Turf Development Bill, 1949—Money Resolution.

I move:—

That for the purpose of any Act of the present Session to amend and extend the Turf Development Act, 1946, it is expedient to authorise:—

(1) the payment to Bord na Móna out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of grants not exceeding in the aggregate one hundred and thirty thousand pounds, towards the expenses incurred by such board under Section 19 of the Principal Act;

(2) the advance to Bord na Móna, out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof, of such sums not exceeding in the aggregate four million, five hundred and twenty thousand pounds, as such board may from time to time request;

(3) the exemption of Bord na Móna, in certain circumstances, of liability to pay interest on advances made in relation to the board's first and second turf development programmes;

(4) the payment to Bord na Móna out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of grants, not exceeding in the aggregate three hundred and sixty thousand pounds, towards the expenses incurred by the board under any schemes for the building by the board of houses for occupation by its servants;

(5) the payment to Bord na Móna out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof of repayable advances, not exceeding in the aggregate six hundred and eighty thousand pounds, towards the expenses incurred by the board under any schemes for the building by the board of houses for occupation by its servants; and

(6) the charge upon and payment out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof of the principal of and interest on any securities issued for the purpose of borrowing under such Act.
