Vol. 123 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Drainage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a proposal has been submitted by Cork County Council in connection with a proposed main drainage scheme at Bandon, County Cork; and, if so, whether a decision has yet been arrived at in connection with it.

Preliminary proposals for a sewerage scheme at Bandon were submitted by the Cork County Council. The estimated cost of these proposals is high, having regard to the population to be served and, following technical examination and inspection by officers of the Department, it has been suggested to the sanitary authority that the scheme might be modified in certain respects. Subject to this, the scheme has been approved in principle and the sanitary authority have been informed that contract documents may be prepared.
