Vol. 123 No. 4

Order of Business.

On the Order of Business, I would like to ask if the Taoiseach can assure the House that ample opportunity will be afforded to the House to consider the proposal the Government has made to transfer the dairy science faculty from Cork to Dublin before that matter is presented to the House as a fait accompli.

No such proposal has been made by the Government yet, and I would recommend the Deputy not to believe everything he sees in the newspaper. Perhaps I should correct my words that no such proposal has been made. Let me say that proposals are under consideration, but no decision has been taken in relation to any matter of that kind.

I understand that letters have been written by the Minister for Agriculture to University College, Cork——

The Deputy understands the matter cannot be discussed in that fashion.

There have been no Government proposals and no decisions have been taken. The matter is open to full and free discussion.

And ample time for questions.

Ample time. It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 5, 4, 2, 10, 6 and 7.

Will the Chair give consideration to my request to raise the subject matter of Question No. 48 on to-day's Order Paper?

I shall consider that and I think the Deputy might consider whether he will raise it if he gets permission.
