Dáil Éireann debate -
Thursday, 16 Nov 1950

Vol. 123 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Bus Service.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether a proposal has been made to Córas Iompair Éireann to operate a bus service connecting Ballydesmond and Kiskeam and Nadd with Cork City; and, if so, if he will state the approximate date on which such service may be available for the public.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given in Dáil Éireann on 21st June to a question regarding the provision of a bus service in this area, in which it was indicated that, under the provisions of the Transport Act, 1950, the Minister for Industry and Commerce had no functions in matters of this kind, responsibility for which rests entirely with Córas Iompair Éireann.

I suggest that the Deputy might address his inquiry direct to Córas Iompair Éireann.
