Vol. 123 No. 7

Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (Continuance and Amendment) Bill, 1950—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to extend the period during which the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946, continues in force and to provide for the setting up of certain advisory bodies for the purposes of that Act.—(Minister for Industry and Commerce.)

To-morrow, if there is no objection.

I gather that this Bill is different from the Bill which has been circulated and which has already received a First Reading and that it contains certain clauses the significance of which we have not yet appreciated. We have not been able to appreciate them, because we have not seen them. Can the Parliamentary Secretary say if there is a time limit with regard to the passing of this Bill?

There is, 31st December. I will not press to have it taken to-morrow, but, if it suits the convenience of Deputies, I should like to have it taken to-morrow.

I will agree to its being ordered for to-morrow if the Parliamentary Secretary agrees to postpone it, if we think it should be postponed, having seen it.

Second Stage ordered for Thursday, 23rd November.
