Vol. 123 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the inhabitants of the village of Crookhaven, Skibbereen, County Cork, can no longer use the village water pump as the water is discoloured and that the only water now available to them is from a well which is situate about 400 yards distant in the middle of a field and from which water can only be got by the unhygienic means of lowering a bucket at the end of a rope, and if he will impress on the Cork County Council the immediate necessity of having a proper water supply made available in the village.

I am not aware of the position referred to by the Deputy. Responsibility in such matters rests with the local authority to whom I shall communicate the Deputy's representations.
