Vol. 123 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Issue of Bull Licences.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the number of bulls in the country in each of the different breeds—Hereford, Shorthorn, Friesian, Jersey, Ayrshire—and others for whose use licences have been issued during the years 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1950.

As bulls are inspected for licence only once and as the licences are not subject to renewal annually, I am not in a position to give the information asked for in the question.

I propose, however, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving, according to breed, the numbers of bulls in respect of which licences were issued in each of the years mentioned.

Following is the statement:—
