Vol. 123 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Freezing of Prices.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, pending the nomination of the prices advisory tribunal pursuant to the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (Continuance and Amendment) Bill, 1950, he will forthwith freeze prices as on the date of the introduction of the Bill and ensure that prices so fixed will be enforced by the appointment of the appropriate inspectors and enforcement authorities.

The Tánaiste dealt with this matter in his speech yesterday on the Second Stage of the Supplies and Services Bill. I have nothing to add.

The Parliamentary Secretary will appreciate that the question was put down before the Tánaiste made his statement.
