Vol. 123 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tweed Sales.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether any tweed manufacturers in this country suspended sales of suitings during the past few months; and, if so, whether he will ensure that the stocks manufactured and accumulated will not rank for increases which may occur at a later date when these stocks are placed on the market.

I am not aware that tweed manufacturers have suspended sales as suggested. If the Deputy will give me particulars of any such cases, I will have them investigated at once.

Surely the Parliamentary Secretary ought to be able to find that out a lot easier than I could.

I have no information which shows that tweed sales have been suspended.

Did you look for the information? The fact is you do not know what is going on in the country at all.
