Vol. 124 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Replacing Navigation Buoy.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the navigation buoy marking the west entrance at Rutland Island to Burtonport Harbour, which drifted ashore some years ago, will be replaced.

There is no information in my Department regarding the buoy referred to in the question. If the Deputy will let me have more detailed particulars I will have further inquiries made.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that thousands of pounds have been spent on the dredging of this harbour and that the expenditure is useless until the marking buoy at the entrance to the harbour is replaced; and further, that the expenditure of a few pounds' salvage would have obviated the necessity of replacing the buoy?
