Vol. 124 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tenders for Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether he has received tenders for the building of houses in Clondulane, Castlelyons, Mitchelstown, Rockmills and Bartlemy, County Cork; and, if so, whether a contract has been placed.

My approval to tenders already accepted by the assistant county manager was notified to the county council on the 2nd ultimo in the case of the Clondulane scheme and on the 13th instant in the cases of the Castlelyons and the Mitchelstown schemes. I understand that the contract documents have not yet been signed locally. The county council was informed on the 2nd ultimo that the tender for the Rockmills scheme appeared to be excessive and could not be approved. The house plans submitted for the Bartlemy scheme will be dealt with in a communication to be issued to the local authority in the near future.
